St. Julie Scholarship Program

ScholarshipWith inspiration from the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, the Academy of Notre Dame Tyngsboro has always been committed to making a values-based, Catholic school education accessible to all students. In order to serve our school community, NDA created the St. Julie Scholarship Program to provide renewable tuition assistance and opportunity for deserving students.

Named after the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, St. Julie Billiart, this four-year high school scholarship will ensure that students who need financial support to attend NDA are granted the opportunity to be educated for life through the Academy’s commitment to strong academics, spiritual formation, community service, and college preparation. Since we launched the St. Julie Scholarship Program to a small group of donors in 2021, 45 Upper School students have been awarded a transformative St. Julie Scholarship, receiving more than $152,000 in tuition assistance on an annual basis. Their NDA education has been made possible through scholarship support from those who care about our mission and legacy.

scholarshipIn recent years, the Academy has experienced a demographic shift, with an increasingly diverse student body (spiritually, economically, culturally, and ethnically) that is reflective of the communities we serve. Today, 66% of our students are female, 49% are students of color, and 75% are of various faith backgrounds. We serve students from 45 local cities and towns, including Lowell, Nashua, and Lawrence. NDA continues to see an increase of students at all grade levels who qualify for tuition assistance and free-and-reduced lunch. As a result, we’ve increased our financial aid and scholarship budget, awarding nearly $1.5 million annually to open our doors to students who seek a transformative Academy education.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
At this pivotal time in our history with growing enrollment and increasing philanthropic support, we are calling on a committed group of alumni and friends of the Academy to consider sponsoring a student by making a minimum commitment of $2,500 a year over four years for a total gift of $10,000. A generous gift of this size will enable us to provide renewable support to the 24 incoming freshmen in need of a St. Julie Scholarship during their time at the Academy’s Upper School.
