NDA Before School Program (BSP)

All policies contained in the Academy of Notre Dame's Student Handbooks for grades Pre-K 3 - 8 apply to the Before School Program (BSP). Please read the handbook carefully, as revisions are made each year. The Academy of Notre Dame reserves the right to create new policies and modify if necessary. If such a situation arises, parents/guardians will be notified of the detailed policy before it takes effect. Parents who fail to support the policies of the Academy of Notre Dame may be asked to withdraw their child(ren) from the Before School Program.

Application & Sign-Up

Applications for the Before School Program may be accessed and completed online in the NDA Parent Portal. Please log into your account to register for Before School care.  Before School care is only available for students in Grades Pre-K 3 - Grade 8.  Students attending NDA’s Upper School (grades 9-12) may not arrive at school before 7:00 AM.

An application must be completed every year for each child.

Conduct

All NDA policies, rules, and expectations for student conduct pertain to the BSP program as well.

Crisis Plan

All Before School Staff are aware of the procedures contained in the Academy’s Crisis Intervention Plan and are prepared to keep your children safe in the event of an emergency event.

Hours of Operation

The Before School Program is open from 6:30 AM  – 7:15 AM any day that the school is open. The Before School Program is closed on snow days, delayed opening days, scheduled holidays, school vacation weeks, and other days when the school is not open.

Medical Emergencies/Medication

All Before School Staff are aware of the procedures for medical emergencies and are prepared to keep your children safe in the event of a medical emergency.

No medication is administered during the Before School Program. If a child requires an Epi-Pen or inhaler, one must be provided to the nurse’s office. If a student attending BSP requires emergency use of an Epi-Pen or inhaler and one has not been provided, a 9-1-1 call will be placed for emergency treatment.

Office Records

As the Before School Program utilizes the school database, parents/guardians are requested to notify the school office in writing of any change of address, custody, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, or emergency contact information.
