Rachel Anne Morrison '05 Science Lab Campaign

The Academy is delighted to announce the future construction of a new state-of-the-art laboratory on the third floor of the Upper School wing named in honor of Rachel Anne Morrison, Class of 2005 valedictorian and 12-season runner! The Rachel Anne Morrison ’05 Science Lab will provide our students, the majority of whom, like Rachel, go on to pursue STEAM majors and careers, with a new space for hands on discovery, learning, and innovation.

We are grateful to the Morrison family for continuing to partner with NDA as we honor Rachel and strengthen NDA’s commitment to science education and STEAM initiatives. The addition of this third lab will ensure adequate lab space for our growing high school enrollment and will enable the Academy to expand our science curriculum in all disciplines, including biochemical-tech level labs. Your support will also allow us to enhance STEAM-related extracurricular offerings for our students.

We are proud to report that nearly 50% of our graduates go on to study STEM in college and beyond. Students like Rachel Morrison, who was working toward her PhD at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, fell in love with science at NDA thanks to our dedicated faculty and hands-on learning experiences.

The Academy already has $250,000 committed to this project toward our goal of $500,000. We need new partners to make this dream a reality. We hope you will enhance the educational experience for our students by making a contribution to the new Rachel Anne Morrison ’05 Science Lab and helping us spread the word. Gifts of all sizes are welcomed and will be used to purchase lab equipment and consumables such as glassware, lab aprons & protective eyewear, molecular biology laboratory kits, reagents, micropipettes, etc. In-kind donations will be accepted after faculty approval.
