NDA Plans for In Person Learning for All Grades, Full Days for 2020-2021 SY

Based on current guidance from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Town of Tyngsboro, the Academy of Notre Dame is preparing for and planning on starting the 2020-2021 School Year with in-person learning for full days for all grade levels, PreK through Grade 12

Summer Fun For Everyone at NDA Begins July 6

The Academy of Notre Dame announced that it will provide free, virtual programs for area children grades PreK – Grade 8 to help ensure that all children have fun enriching activities over the summer. A full spectrum of 17 classes ranging from juggling to chess to playwriting will begin on July 6.

Talking to Your Child About the Conronavirus

Gov. Baker has extended the closure of all private and public schools until Monday, May 4, 2020. We recognize that the prolonged period of isolation from friends, routines and school will take an emotional toll on students.

In particular, middle and high school students may be feeling a heightened level of fear, anxiety and concern about their future and the well-being of people they love.

Parent Resources for eLearning

Thank you to all our families, teachers and staff who are working hard to keep learning alive as we activate student learning at home. We wanted to share resources to families that may help pass the time.

One thing students should do is engage in reading 30 minutes a day. This can be for pleasure or assigned work. This will help to reinforce recently acquired language and vocabulary skills.

Fast Betty's Granddaughter to Speak at NDA

The Academy of Notre Dame is pleased to host guest speaker, Brooke Doire. Ms. Doire will be discussing her how grandmother, Betty Robinson, defied gender stereotypes and prejudice in a politically tense and dangerous time for women in sports. The presentation is Tuesday, March 10 at 3:00 PM in the Student Center on the 2nd Floor -- the entire NDA school community is welcome to attend!

NDA Announces 2nd Quarter Highest & First Honors Students

The Academy of Notre Dame is pleased to announced the names of Upper School students who received Highest or First Honors for the second quarter of the 2019-2020 School Year.

For the second quarter, 32 Upper School students earned the recognition of Highest Honors and 14 students earned First Honors. In order to receive the award of Highest Honors, students must receive no grade lower than a 90 in all College Prep and Honors classes and no less than an 87 in all Advanced Placement courses. For First Honors, students must receive no grade lower than an 87 in all College Prep and Honors classes and no grade lower than an 84 in Advanced Placement courses.

Academy Welcomes New Head of School

The Academy of Notre Dame’s (NDA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Vittoria Pacifico, Ed.D. of Hyde Park, MA, as Head of School.
