Academic Competitions

At the Academy, you will have opportunities to participate in a variety of academic competitions. Opportunities to participate in other academic competitions – math, science, geography -- expand with student interest, so do bring your passions and suggestions with you to the Academy.

Law Day Competition

National Law Day celebrates May 1st with a national competition sponsored by regional bar associations. The Greater Lowell Bar Association judges the best high school essay in this region on a topic provided by the American Bar Association’s annual Law Day challenge. The challenge highlights the liberties US citizens experience in a legal system that values justice for all. President Eisenhower created this program to expand awareness that “respect for the rule of law is the key to individual freedom and justice.”

Model United Nations (Model UN)

Open to all Academy students, the Academy’s Model UN team researches and prepares for four-five one day conferences and one weekend-long conference each year. Each conference provides students with a focus country, as well as specific international issues. Students must research and develop positions and platforms to best represent the interests of their assigned country.
