About the Instructor:

Ms. Janes holds a BA in Human Development/Early Childhood Education/General Special Education and is a 2012 graduate of Rivier College where she earned a Masters in Early Childhood Education. She has taught for 20 years at the early childhood level most recently at Rivier University Landry Early Childhood Center.  When Ms. Janes joined the Academy last February, her mission and goal was to help students become active and engaged lifelong learners by implementing hands-on curriculum and designing a classroom environment where students are encouraged to become partners in their own learning.  Her vision for the Early Years Program continues as she strives to introduce children to one of her favorite hobbies and blending that with skills needed for the digital world. Ms. Janes noted,“I hope to combine my love of gardening and my belief in the important impact of nature on children with my commitment to keeping education current and competitive in an increasingly technological age.”
