The Academy of Notre Dame today announced fourteen students who have earned an AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on Advanced Placement (AP) Exams for the 2019 session.
The College Board's Advanced Placement Program provides academically prepared students the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school and earn college credit, advanced placement in college classes, or both, for successful performance on AP Exams. Exams are graded on a 5-point score, with 5 being the highest. The Academy of Notre Dame scholar awardees have an average of 3.64 for all AP exams taken.
The Academy of Notre Dame offers AP courses in each major academic subject and preparation for several other AP tests through a combination of direct instruction and independent study. Thirty-two out of 36 NDA seniors took one or more AP exam with an average score of 3.3
The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on performance on AP Exams. The following is a list of 2019 NDA honorees.
AP Scholar with Distinction honors students who received an average score of 3.5 or greater on all AP Exams and who scored a 3 or higher on five or more exams.
