Lancers Make History!

The Academy of Notre Dame Lacrosse team is off to a hot start with a 13-12 come from behind win in the program’s first ever game.

Led by Captains: Chase Cameron, Logan Heideman, and Senior Goaltender Tyler Kirchner, the team didn’t stray from their game plan after going down 5 goals to 1. Head Coach and Lacrosse mastermind Anthony Toto, made the proper adjustments and motivating remarks to get his group back on track and tied the game up within minutes. The rapid rebound from the Lancers forced Lowell Catholic into a panicked timeout, in hopes to counter the lethal Lancers offense.

Junior attack man Ethan Brown led the offense with 7 goals of his own, Captain Heideman and Sophomore Nixon Eldregde contributed with several of their own scores. The NDA defense was led by captain goaltender Tyler Kirchner with an elite debut in net. Tyler made 15 saves in his first ever game as a goalie and brought confidence to the entire lacrosse team and academy. We also saw tremendous versatility from Defensemen Ethan Hoover and Will Jeknavarian adapting to different situations, both playing Defense as well as Defensive midfield.

Coach Toto credits the Lancers victory to maintaining possession through winning faceoffs and credits Captain and Faceoff taker Chase Cameron. Coach said the other key was capitalizing on our offensive chances. “We got a lot of work to do,” says Coach Anthony Toto, “but we got the athletes to do it, and we’ll take on anyone.”
