St. Julie Award for Leadership – Alumnae of the Year

St. Julie Billiart, SND, was a leader in Christian education. Through her personal qualities of faith, simplicity, imagination and commitment, St. Julie had the courage to assume the role of a Christian leader.

Many of the Academy of Notre Dame alumnae exemplify the impact of St. Julie’s leadership among women.  In honor of its 60th Anniversary, the Academy established and presented the first St. Julie Award for Leadership. The award is to be presented yearly to an alumna who demonstrates the Christian citizenship, leadership and service that the Academy strives to develop.

The following criteria are used in choosing an Alumna of the Year:

  • A person who supports the Academy and is actively involved in its programs;
  • A person who exemplifies the personal qualities and leadership that the Academy strives to develop through her involvement in the Community; and
  • A graduate of the Academy for more than ten years.
